My main passion in life is sport, and that is also reflected in my eagerness to concentrate on sports journalism.

Although I know that a job in this industry is hard to achieve, I do believe that it is a goal that I am fully capable of reaching.

In 2013 I started my role at Wrexham football club as a match day reporter. The role initially began with writing the clubs tweets and match report once a week. It then gradually developed into a role where I produced regular content for the website and was involved in a daily media regime.

After a few months doing written journalism for the club, I then got to experience my dream of being a commentator by broadcasting both on the radio and television. Ever since I have continued to pursue a career in football commentary, and have two years experience of commentating on matches in the fifth tier of English football.

I started a match day role at Manchester United in 2015 which has helped me to develop my written skills and my ability to write copy to a strict deadline. After an initial trial period, my experience was extended to the end of the 2015/16 season, and I have fortunate enough to report on a major Premier League club from the Old Trafford press-box, further confirming my dream to work in football journalism.

I have also spent time writing for the football magazine FourFourTwo, and have learnt a lot from the professional working environment. I was delighted to make great contacts during my placement and have also already produced a variety of different features for them to use in future issues of the publication. I have been welcomed back for future placements, and still contribute on a free-lance basis.

Football is not the only sport I am interested in and fitting in with national stereotypes I also have a budding interest in Rugby Union, and have always loved tennis. During work experience at BBC Sport Wales I helped to post social media updates for the Six Nations matches and again benefited massively from seeing how journalists work in a stressful working environment.
